OUR MISSION
To provide free reading and written language instruction to children with dyslexia, and to train their tutors in the multisensory Orton-Gillingham approach to reading, spelling and writing.
OUR APPROACH
Orton-Gillingham Approach
The Children’s Dyslexia Centers follow an Orton-Gillingham based, multisensory structured language education (MSLE) approach. Lessons incorporate techniques that simultaneously activate sensory pathways to help children understand the written word. Children are tutored one-on-one twice a week after regular school hours. This allows for the curriculum to be tailored to each individual child and progress is made in small, quantifiable steps.
